As a prominent interior designer, Amber has her fair share of frustrations. She was upset with the money, time, and material wasted in the traditional paint sampling process. Paint manufacturers provide free, paper-sized paint swatches to designers, but they are not truly accurate to the final paint color or texture because they are not produced with paint. This left Amber and other designers with the hindering task of painting blank sample boards (or the wall directly) with sample-sized quantities of paint. It usually works out okay, but it takes time away from what they truly need to be doing.
Taylor was wrapping up his last semester in college and needed an idea for his final course. Taylor and Amber realized they could solve both of their problems together. Amber knew she needed a pre-painted solution to sampling color with her clients, so that became Taylor’s project. Taylor decided to continue the project after graduation. Taylor and Amber talked with thousands of other designers, weighing ideals with practical applications, as they honed their final solution.
Samplize was born to solve not only the problems of the average interior designer, but of the DIY weekend warrior and paint contractor alike. Samplize ships hand-painted, adhesive-backed sample decals within 24 hours. The decals have the same effect as paint on a wall surface. They provide the kind of accuracy and texture that was only before achieved through purchasing sample paint and doing all the work in-house. The samples are available for the same price as traditional sample paint. Best of all, the samples eliminate environmental waste created by surplus sample paint, which is rarely disposed of in the correct way.
